Course Objective 

This course covers the fundamental areas of classical microbiology, including bacteria, fungi, and viruses.  The structure and basic physiology of representative microorganisms will be covered.  Special emphasis will be given to pathogens, epidemiology, and immunology.  The class will integrate recent advances, techniques and procedures relevant to the health care field.
